The Harborough Film Festival takes place at the Harborough Theatre, bringing independent cinema to the heart of the historic market town of Market Harborough. The theatre provides an intimate and welcoming setting for filmmakers and audiences to come together and experience a diverse programme of short films from around the world. The festival celebrates bold storytelling, creative filmmaking, and fresh voices, while placing a strong
emphasis on supporting local talent from Leicestershire. Alongside international submissions, the Harborough Film Festival is proud to champion films made within the county, offering a platform for regional filmmakers to showcase their work on the big screen.

Filmmakers are invited to submit their films for next year’s festival via FilmFreeway.
Submissions are open to short films with a running time of 30 minutes or under. Leicestershire-made films are eligible for the Leicestershire Short Film category, while all other submissions will be considered for Best Short Film, along with a range of additional awards.
We welcome submissions from filmmakers at all stages of their careers and look forward to discovering and celebrating outstanding short films at next year’s Harborough Film Festival.
